Climate Change Information Center was established in 1997 in the frames of ARM/95/G31/A/1G/99 UNDP/GEF Project "Armenia - Country Study on Climate Change" with a main goal to strengthen the Information Center of the Ministry of Nature Protection.

The aim of the project was to identify and create connections to both national and international sources of information which would lead to knowledge sharing and prevention of duplication in similar kind of efforts. The main goal of this activity is to find potential international partners to cooperate with either on this project or on the following possible projects dealing with Climate Change problems.

 


   THE  5TH  RENEWABLE AND CLEAN ENERGY INTERNATIONAL
CONFERENCE AND EXHIBITION

The Renewable and Clean Energy Public Council of Armenia and UNDP-GEF Climate Change program announce the 5th Renewable and Clean Energy International Conference and Exhibition “The Prospects of Low Carbon Development in Armenia” to be held in Yerevan, Armenia in October 24-25, 2013.

The purpose of the Conference is to provide the united public platform to all stakeholders such as NGOs, agencies, manufacturing, scientific and financing authorities and other field actors for presentation and discussion of renewable energy and energy efficiency development trends and potential, policies and strategies in Renewable and Clean Energy new developments; best practice and other topical issues. All admitted experimental and scientific papers and material will be published in the Conference Proceedings. The participation of foreign experts is envisaged.

The Conference topics are the policy and strategy of low carbon development, national energy security and ecology aspects, trends and development barriers, new technologies and investment best practice.

ПЯТАЯ МЕЖДУНАРОДНАЯ КОНФЕРЕНЦИЯ И ВЫСТАВКА
“ВОЗОБНОВЛЯЕМЫЕ И ЧИСТЫЕ ИСТОЧНИКИ ЭНЕРГИИ”

Общественный Совет по Возобновляемой и Чистой Энергии Армении и UNDP-GEF программа по изменению климата  сообщают о проведении Пятой Меж­ду­на­род­ной Конференции по возобновляемым и чистым источникам энергии на тему “Перспективы низкоуглеродного развития в Армении” в 24–25 октября 2013 года в г. Ереване.

Целью Конференции является предоставление единой общественной платформы всем заинтересованным общественным организациям, ведомствам, промышленным, научно-исследовательским и финансирующим организациям, а также деятелям энергосектора для представления идей, обсуждения тенденций разви­тия, барьеров в сфере возобновляемых источников и энергосбережения, политики и стратегии, новых научно-технических разработок,  примеров практической реализации проектов и других актуальных вопросов. Все допущенные работы будут опубликованы в сборнике трудов конференции. Предусматривается участие международных экспертов.

Lessons Learned Report

The Lessons Learned Report was prepared in 2012 and published in order to capture the experiences gained and observations made during imple­men­ta­tion of "Improving Energy Efficiency of Municipal Heating and Hot Water Supply" UNDP-GEF 00035799 project. The Report summarizes the achievements of the Project and formulates key recommendations concerning the future development of energy efficient heat supply market in Armenia.

Seminar on Climate Change Impact on Agriculture in Syunik Region

The issues of climate change impact on agriculture in Syunik Region were discussed during the seminar held on May 24, 2013 in Goris. The seminar was organized by the Armenian National Agrarian University and by the “Enabling Activities for the Preparation of Armenia’s Third National Communication to the UNFCCC” UNDP-GEF Project with support of Syunik Agriculture Support Marz Center.

Statement of the mountainous landlocked developing countries

During  the second part of the second session of The Ad Hoc Working Group on the Durban Platform for Enhanced Action (ADP), from 4-13 June 2013 in Bonn, Germany,  Armenia came up with the following Statement, on behalf of the mountainous landlocked developing countries (Armenia, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan) Group. The first part of the second session of the Ad Hoc Working Group on the Durban Platform for Enhanced Action (ADP 2.1) was held at the World Conference Center Bonn, Germany from 29 Apr - 3 May 2013.
