Workshop on “Specification of the Process of Preparation of the Third National GHG Inventory”

Workshop on “Specification of the process of preparation of the Third National GHG Inventory” was organized by the RA Ministry of Nature Protection and the "Enabling activities for the Preparation of Armenia's Third National Communication to the UNFCCC" UNDP/GEF Project on 20 September 2012. The representatives from Yerevan Municipality, RA Ministries of Nature Protection, Agriculture, Urban Development, Economy as well as State Committee of the Real Estate Cadastre, State Revenue Committee, Public Services Regulatory Commission and “ArmRusgazprom” CJSC attended the event. The total number of the participants was 30.

The workshop was preceded by two working meetings/seminars of the "Enabling activities for the Preparation of Armenia's Third National Communication to the UNFCCC" UNDP/GE Project’s GHG Inventory working group experts responsible for development of subsectors. During these meetings the working group’s national experts made separate presentations on the main principles of report presentation.  In the result of these seminars the main obstacles and gaps existing in the process of information and data collection have been identified.

This workshop was devoted to the presentation of these issues as well as discussion of the possibility of inventory quality improvement as well as application of high level methodology.During the workshop the experts had the opportunity to establish relations with the agencies which can also contribute to the data collection process.
