During  the second part of the second session of The Ad Hoc Working Group on the Durban Platform for Enhanced Action (ADP), from 4-13 June 2013 in Bonn, Germany,  Armenia came up with the following Statement, on behalf of the mountainous landlocked developing countries (Armenia, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan) Group. The first part of the second session of the Ad Hoc Working Group on the Durban Platform for Enhanced Action (ADP 2.1) was held at the World Conference Center Bonn, Germany from 29 Apr - 3 May 2013.

The ADP was created in Durban and was strengthened in Doha. This being the first time we are meeting since Doha. In Doha, Parties reiterated their will to attain an effective 2015 agreement and to close the gap between our collective ambition and the demands of science.

As part of UNDP’s continuing efforts to share lessons learnt and best practice in sustainable energy, UNDP has recently published a new report entitled Derisking Renewable Energy Investment.

The expert meeting on technology roadmaps of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Technology Executive Committee (TEC) took place on 25 March 2013 in Bonn, Germany. The meeting, which was organized by the TEC under the umbrella of its work, focused on technologies for adaptation to climate change. It was attended by 34 participants, including members of the TEC, representatives of other UNFCCC bodies, technical experts and the UNFCCC Secretariat.

The Kyoto Protocol’s clean development mechanism (CDM), the international market-based tool that incentivizes greenhouse gas emission reduction projects in developing countries, passed the 6,000 project milestone this week.

The National Communication Support Programme team shared the new lessons learned publication on National Communications. 

The High-level Dialogue on Sustainable Energy in Europe and CIS will be organized in New York on October 03, 2012. Co-hosted by the Turkish Mission to UN and UNDP/RBEC, the dialogue takes place in the context of previous meetings on key development issues.

The UNFCCC Secretariat in cooperation with the RA Ministry of Nature Protection organized a regional workshop in Yerevan city on July 2 to 4, 2012.

The workshop was devoted to the exchange of experience and lessons learned in preparation and implementation of Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMA) (greenhouse gases emission reduction) for the Eastern European and Asia-Pacific regions.  

The Atomic Energy Authority (AEA Technology plc) carried out the final report for the Study on the Integrity of the Clean Development mechanism (CDM) under contract for the European Commission.
