TNC Inception Seminar and Steering Committee Meeting (20/12/2011)

The Steering Committee and Inception Meeting of the “Enabling Activities for the Preparation of Armenia’s Third National Communication to the UNFCCC” UNDP/GEF Project was conducted on December 20, 2011. The event was attended by the Steering Committee members and corresponding stakeholder national and international organizations. The overall number of the participants of the event was 56. The first part of the meeting was Extended Steering Committee Meeting headed by Mr. Simon Papyan, First Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Nature Protection. The Steering Committee approved the composition of the Steering Committee and taking into consideration the mentioned recommendations, approved the Project’s work-plan for 2012. At the end of the Steering Committee Meeting it was agreed to review all submitted written recommendations and consider them in the Inception Report.  

The second part of the event was devoted to the presentations of different ministries on the sector specific priorities in the context of climate change. The representatives of Ministries submitted their presentations to the project team in advance. After the presentations the participants of the events had a discussion on the gaps, constrains and problems of the climate change consideration in the sector specific policies.
