Seminar on Climate Change Issues for Students

The seminar on Climate Change Issues was organized within the frames of the "Enabling Activities for the Preparation of Armenia's Second National Communication to the UNFCCC" UNDP/GEF project on April 15, 2009. The seminar aimed at introduction of climate change issues to the students of the Faculty of Biology, Chemistry and Geography of the Armenian State Pedagogical University. More than 60 students and 10 lecturers attended the seminar. The welcoming remarks and objectives of the seminar were introduced by Svetlana Hovakimyan, Dean of the Faculty of Biology, Chemistry and Geography, Armenian State Pedagogical University. The seminar revealed the following topics: "UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and Kyoto protocol: Implementation in Armenia", "Global Climate Change and Impacts on Armenia, "Climate Change Issues in Ecological Educational Curricula" and  "Climate Change Projections for Shirak Marz".
