Second National Communication - Project Document
The project aims to respond to the objectives of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, corresponding to the strategy mentioned in the First National Communication of Armenia. The project is a follow-up of previous climate change activities performed under the First National Communication, capacity building in priority areas and self-assessment exercise. The main components of the project are:
(a) preparation of the Second National Communication (SNC) of Armenia and its submission to the Conference of Parties in accordance with Article 12 of the UN Framework Convention of Climate Change, which will consist of: (i) description of national circumstances; (ii) national greenhouse gas inventory; (iii) assessment of vulnerability and measures to facilitate adaptation to climate change; (iv) update of potential measures to mitigate climate change in Armenia; (v) capacity building to develop, transfer, assess environmentally sound technologies and know-how, modalities to absorb them and host projects; (vi) update of information on climate change research and systematic observation;
(b) enhancing general awareness and knowledge on climate change related issues in Armenia;
(c) identification and formulation of projects related to adaptation to the impacts of climate change and abatement of greenhouse gases emissions;
(d) strengthening the national capacities to participate in different mechanisms aimed at fulfillment of commitments under the UNFCCC.

ՄԱԶԾ/ԳԷՖ "Հայաստան. քաղաքային ջեռուցման և տաք ջրամատակարարման էներգաարդյունավետության բարձրացում" ծրագիր
Ծրագրի նպատակն է նվազեցնել Հայաստանի քաղաքներում ջեռուցման և տաք ջրամատակարարման գործունեության հետևանքով առաջացող ջերմոցային գազերի արտանետումները, այդ քաղաքներում ջեռուցման և տաք ջրամատակարարման ծառայությունների կայուն զարգացման հիմքերն ապահովելու միջոցով, միևնույն ժամանակ հաշվի առնելով գլոբալ բնապահպանական ազդեցությունները:
Այդ շրջանակներում ծրագիրը նպատակ ունի`
(i) ամրապնդել համատիրությունների դերը առանձին բնակելի շենքերում կոլեկտիվ կերպով ջերմամատակարարման և տաք ջրամատակարարման ծառայությունների կազմակերպման և կառավարման հարցում,
(ii) աջակցել գործող ընկերություններին` իրենց ծառայությունների որակը և գործունեության արդյունավետությունը բարելավելու նպատակով իրականացվող վերակազմավորման և հզորությունների ստեղծման աշխատանքներում,
(iii) աջակցել նոր ոչ-կենտրոնացված ծառայություններ մատուցողներին իրենց գործունեության առևտրայնացման, մարկետինգի և բազմազանեցման հարցում` բնապահպանական առումով մաքուր և էներգաարդյունավետ այլընտրանքային տեխնոլոգիաների օգտագործմանը նպաստելու և կենտրոնական ջերմամատակարարման առումով ոչ նպատակահարմար վայրերի համար պահանջվող ներդրումների հոսքը կազմակերպելու համար, և
(iv) օգտագործել ստացված արդյունքները, փորձը և քաղված դասերը Հայաստանում ջեռուցման և տաք ջրամատակարարման ծառայությունների հեռանկարային զարգացմանը նպաստելու համար, շեշտադրելով ջերմոցային գազերի արտանետումների նվազեցման կարևորությունը, ինչպես նաև մշակել նորմեր և իրականացման մեխանիզմներ` անտառային ռեսուրսների կայուն օգտագործմանը և կլիմայի փոփոխության կոնվենցիայի նպատակների իրագործմանը նպաստելու համար:
