Particularly, the ministry negotiates with the Federal Ministry for Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management of the Republic of Austria and the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety of German Federal Republic on bilateral cooperation for the realization of projects under the CDM.
The co-operation in the framework of these memorandums will include support for realizing projects under the CDM. The Partners will facilitate the exchange of information on their climate change programmes and strategies, including programmes for the use of the flexible mechanisms of the Kyoto Protocol. The Partners will also facilitate and assist to the development and implementation of CDM projects and assist interested project developers, e.g. through providing relevant information on project opportunities, on the relevant national provisions for such projects, including procedures for permitting and licensing, and on procedures for obtaining Letters of No Objection and formal approval for project activities in accordance with the requirements of the Kyoto Protocol.
Another document which is under consideration of the Ministry of Nature Protection is the Memorandum of Understanding to be signed with the United Nations Development Programme which envisages cooperation under the UNDP Millennium Development Goal Carbon Facility.
