Russia has begun to earn under Kyoto Protocol

According to Lenta.Ru in August 2010 the Ety-Purovskoe oil field in Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District has produced a non-typical pipeline. By this pipeline associated petroleum gas is dispatched.  Before, this gas was burnt by “Gasprom Neft”. So, by this the Russian company gets a dual benefit: not only by selling the gas but also not emitting greenhouse gases to the atmosphere.

The 16th Conference of Parties to the UNFCCC in Cancun, Mexico

Armenia took part in 16th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Frameworks Convention on Climate Change and its Kyoto Protocol (COP 16) and in 6th session of the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the parties to the Kyoto Protocol (CMP 6). The events were organized in Cancun, Mexico, from 29 November to 10 December, 2010.

Armenia Received an Award from the Clean Development Mechanism Executive Board, Cancun, Mexico, Nov. 27-28

During the tenth Forum of the Designated National Authorities (DNA) for the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), organized by the UNFCCC Secretariat on 27-28 of November in Cancun, Mexico, Armenia was announced as one of 3 DNAs, which received the “DNA Communicator of the Year Showcase” Award by the UNFCCC Secretariat in recognition of the work done to raise awareness about and participation in the CDM.  The other 2 DNAs who received award were Rwanda and Brazil.
