Statement of the mountainous landlocked developing countries

During  the second part of the second session of The Ad Hoc Working Group on the Durban Platform for Enhanced Action (ADP), from 4-13 June 2013 in Bonn, Germany,  Armenia came up with the following Statement, on behalf of the mountainous landlocked developing countries (Armenia, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan) Group. The first part of the second session of the Ad Hoc Working Group on the Durban Platform for Enhanced Action (ADP 2.1) was held at the World Conference Center Bonn, Germany from 29 Apr - 3 May 2013.

Summary of the Expert Meeting on Technology Roadmaps of the UN FCCC Technology Executive Committee

The expert meeting on technology roadmaps of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Technology Executive Committee (TEC) took place on 25 March 2013 in Bonn, Germany. The meeting, which was organized by the TEC under the umbrella of its work, focused on technologies for adaptation to climate change. It was attended by 34 participants, including members of the TEC, representatives of other UNFCCC bodies, technical experts and the UNFCCC Secretariat.

UNFCCC Regional Collaboration Centres

The first RCC was established in January 2013 in Lomé, Togo, in collaboration with the Banque Ouest Africaine de Développement (BOAD). Soon afterwards, the UNFCCC secretariat signed a partnership agreement with the East African Development Bank (EADB) to establish another RCC in Kampala, Uganda.

UNDP Black Sea Trade and Investment Promotion Program initiated a new project

UNDP Black Sea Trade and Investment Promotion Program presents its new project called CLIMBIZ! (www.climbiz.org). 

The project aims at: 

  • Green trade and investment programs for business opportunities arising from climate change developed and skills of relevant stakeholders improved in the BSEC region
  • A regional forum for climate change and green economy established in order to connect stakeholders, enforce networks and promote a green marketplace in the BSEC region
  • Regional climate change vulnerability and impact assessment for key sectors prepared and capacities of relevant stakeholders strengthened to integrate climate change into regional policy development
