“Energy Saving Initiative in the Building Sector in Eastern Europe and the Central Asian Countries” EuropeAid/128087/C/SER/Multi Project organized a seminar on “Energy performance certification of buildings and energy labelling of appliances” for experts from EU and INOGATE Project partner countries in Kiev, Ukraine, on January 18-19, 2011.
The objectives of the seminar include raising the participants’ awareness of the advantages, sequence and components of a certification and labelling program, links between EE strategy and housing policy, as well as of concrete issues to be solved, including methods and tools to be used for legal issues and relationships between concerned actors, based on experience of EU (“old” and “new” Member States) and other countries in designing and implementing labelling.
The representatives of Armenia were Mr. Levon Vardanyan, Head of Department of Development of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Armenia, Mr. Samvel Srapyan, Head of Housing Stock Management and Communal Policy Division of Housing Provision of the RA Ministry of Urban Development, Mr. Suren Gyurjinyan, Expert of “Armenia: Improving Energy Efficiency of Municipal Heating and Hot Water Supply” UNDP/GEF/00035799 Project, and Mr. Vahram Jalalyan, Task Leader of “Improving Energy Efficiency in Buildings” UNDP/GEF/00059937 project.
Armenian experts presented (eng_1Mb) local experience in choosing an approach for introduction of an energy labeling system for household energy-consuming appliances as well as in applying passports to multi-apartment buildings in the frames of UNDP-GEF projects.
