STEERING COMMITTEE ENLARGED MEETING (Armenia Marriott Hotel) - 2006-09-12

The Project Steering Committee enlarged meeting was organized to present and discuss the Project Progress Report for 2006.
The meeting was attended by 83 participants, including members of Project Steering Committee, representatives of Ministries, Public Services Regulatory Commission, Yerevan Municipality, self-administration bodies, private companies, scientific and research institutes, international/ local organizations and mass media.

Mr. V. Ayvazyan, Minister of Nature Protection of RA, PSC Chair and Mr. A. Avanessov, UNDP Deputy Resident Representative, Deputy Chair of PSC made a welcoming speech.

The meeting was chaired by Mr. V. Ayvazyan, who later on delegated the chairing responsibility to Mr. S. Papyan, Deputy Minister of Nature Protection of RA. After the presentations made by the key members of the Project and international consultants, as envisaged by the Agenda, the participants were invited to share opinions and ask questions to Project management and speech makers.

All PSC members were delivered the Project Progress Report for 2006 in the Armenian language (88 pages). In general, the works accomplished by the Project for the year 2006 were assessed as satisfactory. A number of encouraging opinions were heard about the Project, and the meeting participants expressed their belief and confidence for the success of the Project.

The meeting was elucidated by mass media and transmitted by 5 TV channels, including in a film on heat supply issues of Yerevan city, (Yerevan TV channel, "My Yerevan" Program, September 19 and 24, 2006, 38 minutes).
