To complement the three above-mentioned Conventions and their informational basis Mrs. Aida Iskoyan, Focal Point for Aarhus Convention, made some clarifications on the Convention and its role in the environmental education. The Current State of Integrating the UN Convention Issues into the Curricula of Higher Educational Establishments was represented by Mr. Emil Gevorgyan, Dean of Biology Faculty, Yerevan State University and Mr. Ashot Khoyetsyan, Dean of Geography Faculty, Yerevan State University. Mr. Emil Gevorgyan represents the status of higher educational system and identified the main constrains. Mr. Ashot Khoyetsyan represents the structure of developing curricula for environmental education and reprofiling. Mr. Samvel Pipoyan, Chief Specialist of Professional Educational Department, Ministry of Education and Science introduces the process of developing and adopting curricula for interim and professional education. He represents also the results of survey, undertaken by the NCSA project jointly with Ministry of Education and Science in the Professional Educational System. Ms. Anahit Gasparyan (Educational Reform Center) covered the same issue in the Secondary Education System. Education System Requirements in Accordance to the Sustainable Development Principles Karine Danielyan Sustainable Development Association NGO, President. She shared her experience in this issue, basing on participation in the different high-level meetings and conferences. Mrs. Melanya Davtyan, Byurakn NGO the Key Role of NGOs in Ecological Education Development. She pointed some positive changes in the area of public education and awareness rising on environmental issues, mainly undertaken for kids and youth. As a positive sample was pointed activity of «Step by Step» NGO, which has developed «ABC»- an ecological alphabet for kids. Mrs. Gohar Oganezova represents the current state of environmental education in the system of private educational institutions, considering it as unsatisfactory. After the break, the round table discussions took place. Mr. Razmik Petrosyan, lecturer from the department of Yerevan State Institute of Economy, summarized the speeches heard. He shared his opinion as a result of participation in a number of conferences and pointed that the state of education in Armenia is considered as the second one in the CIS region. The state of educational system in Armenia was considered as not satisfactory. He offered to create a joint regulatory unit and develop new learning materials. Mr. Pipoyan pointed that 115 specialties do exist and more than 100 pending. He focused on the necessity of developing indicators for each specialty. He offered to develop «Regulation on state indicators developing and adopting». Mr. Gabrielyan recommended using the best practices. Mr. Arzumanyan recommended formulate the demand for environmental knowledge. Mr Achamughlyan recommended strengthening the linkages between the subjects in the school curricula. Mrs. Khachatryan suggested integration of Convention issues into the decisions of all the Ministries. Mr Petrosyan to establish an independent coordination group with Focal Points to address the issues. The independant expert is obligatory. Mrs Eghiazaryan- To develop ecological education concept.
