Experience Exchange and Preparation to the UN Decade of "Education for Sustainable Development (ESD)"
The "Education for Sustainable Development" Regional Seminar, is organized by OSCE, "Association for Sustainable Human Development" NGO and UNDP/GEF "National Capacity Self Assessment for Global Environmental Management" Project on December 22-23, 2003.
The participants are representatives from NGOs and educational institutions from Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russian Federation, as well as from Pan-European Eco-Forum.
The Sustainable Development World Summit in Johannesburg (August-September 2002) recommended to UN General Assembly to review the following decade as "Decade of Education for Sustainable Development".
It was aimed at:

Introducing the documents adopted during the World Summit on Sustainable Development and Kiev Ministerial Conference on "Education for Sustainable Development";

Exchanging experience of different organizations in formal and non-formal education;

Developing an action plan for the upcoming "Decade of Education for Sustainable Development".
